The Midwest Energy Theft Association (META) has become the Midwest Revenue Protection Association (MWRPA). The name change was made to better align the group with all forms of utility revenue protection rather than focusing solely on revenue losses related to theft of utility service. The new name also provides direct correlation to the group’s website, www.mwrpa.org.
The current chairperson of MWRPA is Tina Vang, Supervisor of Electric Metering with the Kansas City Board of Public Utilities. Tina has been a member of the MWRPA Board since 2016 and became chairperson in November 2021. Tina is leaving the utility industry and relocating to the West Coast with her family. During her time as chairperson, Tina has helped lead the change from META to MWRPA along with the launch of the new MWRPA website, www.mwrpa.org. Thank you, Tina, for your years with MWRPA and for your leadership over the past almost five years. Tina will remain active with MWRPA as an advisor.
Assuming the chairperson’s role is Saul Marin, PGL/NSG Team Leader of Revenue Protection and Field Services in Credit & Collections at People’s Gas in Chicago. Saul has been MWRPA co-chairperson since 2024. MWRPA looks forward to your leadership! Saul’s first task will be filling board vacancies along with expanding the new website. Anyone interested in serving on the MWRPA board can contact Saul through the ‘become a member’ dialog on the home page of this website.
